To ensure countries can effectively benefit from digital health investments, “digital adaptation kits” (DAKs) are designed to facilitate the accurate
reflection of WHO’s clinical, public health and data use guidelines within the digital systems countries are adopting. DAKs are operational, softwareneutral, standardized documentation that distil clinical, public health and data use guidance into a format that can be transparently incorporated into
digital systems.

In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, countries must develop and deploy strategic action plans, which can benefit explicitly from digital health and digital engagement solutions. Plans should, where possible, be consistent with UNICEF Health’s COVID-19 strategy “Saving lives, maintaining services and strengthening systems”.

The Verification & traceability Initiative, led by BMGF, GAVI, UNICEF, USAID, the Global Fund, and the World Bank, will establish a Global Trust Repository (GTR) that can verify the authenticity of health product information sent to its application programming interface (API) or scanned using a complementary, off-the shelf verification application (already in use).

This report provides a detailed overview of the assessment process used by the DPGA to review and highlight these 13 digital public goods/global goods.

Afin de garantir que les pays puissent tirer parti des investissements effectués dans le domaine de la santé numérique, des kits d’adaptation numérique (KAN) ont été conçus pour promouvoir une réflexion précise des lignes directrices de l’OMS en ce qui concerne l’utilisation des données cliniques et de santé publique au sein des systèmes numériques adoptés par les pays. Les KAN sont des documents opérationnels standardisés, compatibles avec tous les logiciels, qui compilent les orientations concernant l’utilisation des données cliniques et de santé publique en un format pouvant être clairement intégré aux systèmes numériques.

The key aim of this guideline is to present recommendations based on a critical evaluation of the evidence on emerging digital health interventions that are contributing to health system improvements, based on an assessment of the benefits, harms, acceptability, feasibility, resource use and equity considerations.

Digital Adaptation Kits (DAKs) are part of the SMART guidelines initiative to ensure WHO’s evidence-based guideline content is accurately reflected in the digital systems countries are adopting. The DAKs are software-neutral, operational, and structured documentation based on WHO clinical, health system and data use recommendations to systematically and transparently inform the design of digital systems.

WHO SMART guidelines comprise documentation, procedures, and digital health components to steer guideline localization and implementation through digital systems. This community contains documents, guidance and other artefacts related to the SMART Guidelines work.

From the perspective of Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH), the aim of this mapping is to chart and review the situation on the use of digital solutions in RMNCAH program implementation, utilization, and provision of services and its enabling environments such as digital health infrastructure and to find about opportunities for effective adoption, integration, and scale-up of digital solutions in RMNCAH.
